The article deals with the concept of “legal language”, its functions and specifics, the functioning, the basic functional and stylistic varieties of legal texts. The functioning of legal language, the typological specific character of texts, the regularities of the linguistic means use in the legal text, taking into account its functional-stylistic features, which form the necessary scientific and theoretical basis for solving a number of applied tasks in the field of lawmaking and exercise of right have been studied.
