«CODE» CONCEPT IN TERMINOLOGICAL APPARATUS OF LITERARY METHODOLOGIES: UMBERTO ECO‘S VERSION

The proposed work continues the cycle of historiographical studies devoted to the definition of “code” concept in terminological apparatus of literary methodologies. The essence and specifics of “codes” in U. Eco’s semiotic writings is clarifiedin the article. The principal disparity of structure to the structured object of being is established. The code is defined as a system of probabilities, intended to limit the infinity and disordered initial system, always introduced by the researcher “from the outside”, which constitutes certain limits of study.
