FORMATION OF A PROFESSIONAL’S RHETORICAL COMPETENCE IN THE PROCESS OF ACQUIRING THE SCIENTIFIC STYLE

The article addresses the issue of developing a specialist’s rhetorical competence in the process of mastering the scientific style of speech. Rhetorical competence is viewed as an integral component of the professional linguistic personality, which ensures effective communication in academic and professional environments. The relevance of the study is driven by the increasing role of the scientific style in professional training, as well as the need to improve the communicative skills of higher education students in accordance with modern communication standards. The article identifies the main components of rhetorical competence, namely logical-cognitive, sociocultural, ethical, strategic, and genre-stylistic. Special attention is given to the influence of scientific style tools on the development of argumentation skills, the construction of persuasive statements, adherence to academic integrity norms, and the enhancement of critical thinking.The purpose of the article is to substantiate the role of the scientific style as a means of forming the rhetorical competence of future specialists and to determine effective approaches to this process.As a result of the study, a number of methodological techniques and exercises aimed at developing rhetorical skills based on scientific style texts are proposed. The novelty of the work lies in combining linguistic and rhetorical approaches to the formation of professional speech. The theoretical positions and practical recommendations suggested can be used in the training process of higher education students across various specialties.
