Language in medical discourse functions not only as a means of transmitting information but also as a powerful tool of influence on public consciousness, shaping social attitudes and behavioral models. This type of discourse becomes particularly significant under the conditions of global threats to humanity, when the need for reliable and timely communication serves as a critical factor for preserving life and health. The World Health Organization (WHO) emerges as the central institution that sets the standards of such communication, disseminating evidence-based information, recommendations, and calls to action through digital platforms, including the official website, social media, and multimedia resources. This multi-channel approach ensures broader audience outreach and exerts influence across diverse social groups. The article focuses on the analysis of communicative strategies and tactics employed in WHO’s medical discourse concerning global threats to humanity. The study emphasizes the specificity of linguistic means – lexical, grammatical, and stylistic – that enhance the effectiveness of online communication and foster trust in the institutional source. It is established that the central role is played by the communicative strategies of informing and persuasion. The former is realized through tactics of explanation, justification, and representation of the actual situation; the latter operates through emotional appeal and recommendation, which motivate the audience toward active response and behavioral change. The proposed analysis shows that the use of these strategies is crucial for building effective dialogue between WHO and the global audience. They not only facilitate better interpretation of specialized information by nonprofessional recipients but also encourage the development of behavioral models aimed at counteracting threats and mitigating their consequences. This approach underscores the role of medical communication as a factor of collective responsibility, trust building, and social mobilization in times of crisis.
