TRANSFORMATION OF LANGUAGE UNITS IN THE CONTEMPORARY LANGUAGE LANDSCAPE OF THE WORLD

Abstract

This article outlines the theoretical foundations for studying the linguistic picture of the world; reveals the role of folk speech as an important factor in shaping the modern linguistic picture of the world of Ukrainians; and clarifies the role of the language of the people in preserving national identity, transmitting genetic code, and shaping cultural identity.Analyzing linguistic combinations in folk speech and contexts of literary works, a comprehensive analysis of transformed linguistic units in the contemporary linguistic picture of the world was conducted, taking into account their semantic, structural, and pragmatic changes. Particular attention is paid to transformed linguistic units that arose in wartime conditions and in which traditional linguistic forms are being actively reinterpreted, contributing to the emergence of new symbols.Folk speech, while retaining its sacredness, is filled with contemporary nuances of meaning, reflects the resilience of the people, and becomes an instrument of national identity, resistance, and self-awareness. We are attempting to establish a conceptual connection between sunflower < [light, life, native land, Ukraine, health, memory] > and human beings.The study uses descriptive-analytical and comparative-historical methods with elements of conceptual context analysis and the establishment of connections between linguistic phenomena. The latest methods of conceptual analysis are also applied, including a linguistic and cultural description of a number of stable, associatively linked chains of linguistic units.The conclusions obtained during the study help to comprehensively understand the role and place of transformed language units in the formation of the modern linguistic picture of the world, to reveal the deeper meaning of a motivated word, and encourage further study of the relationship between language and culture, as well as the study of new concepts that affirm the national identity of Ukrainians.
