THE REFLECTING OF BLACK HUMOUR APPROACHES IN THE UKRAINIAN TRANSLATION: BY EXAMPLE OF THE POEM BY JONATHAN SWIFT ―DEATH AND DAPHNE‖

The different aspects of Ukrainian translations of the poem “Death and Daphne” by Jonathan Swift have been analysed. The questions of satire and black humour are underlined. The parallels with the Ukrainian tradition of death jest, as well as the biographies of Swift and the life of contemporary Ukrainian statesmen, are revealed. A mythological research of implicit meanings of the poem is given. The versification analysis demonstrates the specifics of the reproduction of formal text factors. The study has theoretical and practical directions. The thesaurus, biographical, comparative, gender studies analyses are given.
