CURRENT TRENDS REGARDING THE ORGANIZATION AND CONDUCT OF SWIMMING LESSONS WITH CHILDREN FROM 2 MONTHS TO 3 YEARS IN POOLS IN GROUP AND INDIVIDUAL FORMAT

Abstract

Work relevance. Swimming with children from birth to 3y. old is an internationally recognized field of children’s improvement and development. The most important factor of classe’s effectiveness is the parent’s conscious attitude to this process. One of the ways to improve children's swimming training programs should receiving and analyzing information from parents. Conducted scientific research and accumulated practical experience dictate the need to develop programs aimed at training specialists in the field of swimming, creating recommendations for parents considering new generation’s characteristics. The purpose of the study is to determine modern trends in organization and early swimming classes from parental audience perspective, to create a methodological basis and to form a program of classes for specialists who work with children in swimming pools. Material and methods: analysis and generalization of literary sources, questionnaires, surveys, observation, mathematical statistics methods. The research was conducted during 2021 in 10 regions of Ukraine, united by the common experience of organizing classes under «Like a Fish in Water» program. 278 respondents took part in the survey. The results. In the study, a number of issues related to the opinion of parents of children under 3y. old engaged in swimming were studied, the need was determined and ways of developing and detailing swimming training programs, methodical recommendations related to the lesson’s specifics were outlined. Conclusions. Among the forms of swimming lessons with children, modern parents prefer the group form of training (96.2% of respondents). An important aspect in achieving results in early swimming is parents' understanding of the classes system, the desire to regularly visit the pool, readiness to master the classes experience with the child. Identified trends make it possible to create the necessary additions to the existing programs for children in a group and individual format.
