PHYSICAL EDUCATION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT COMPONENT EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM OF UKRAINE

Abstract

The article raises an important and extremely urgent problem of the decline of physical education in Ukraine. It is emphasized that our country has always had a powerful system of physical education, but in recent years, as a result of failed reforms, the destruction of many years of educational assets and the leveling of national values have occurred to a certain extent. It was established that, based on the results of the 2023 admissions campaign, enrollments in physical and technical specialties fell once again, and some higher education institutions failed to fulfill the state order for admission to these specialties. It is emphasized. that as the world is updated, the specialties are also updated, but in the near future the greatest demand will be for those in the preparation of which future specialists will study physics as a basic discipline. A brief review is presented on the subject of determining the role of physics knowledge for the most necessary and in-demand professions today. It has been proven that it is necessary to immediately return to professional orientation work in the educational process of physics, but to expand its functions – not only to introduce students to modern professions, but also to explain to them the role of physical knowledge for achieving success in each of the professions and in later life. It was determined that a failure in the formation of students' motivation to study physics and the assessment of its role in the modern world occurs at certain stages of school education, and therefore special attention should be paid to the study of physics in secondary education institutions, which requires highly qualified personnel. It was noted that today in most secondary education institutions, even those specialized in the field of physics and mathematics, there is a lack of physics teachers, therefore it is often taught by people who are casual in pedagogical activity, who do not possess the complex of necessary professional knowledge, are not able to ensure the quality of the educational process, and most importantly – interest students. It is noted that there are also significant problems in this direction, in particular, recruitment to the specialty «Secondary Education (Physics)» has fallen sharply, in recent years in some pedagogical universities, even state recruitment orders have not been fulfilled. Measures to encourage young people to study in the specialty «Physics (secondary education)» are proposed. It has been established that today the most important component of the educational system of Ukraine – physical education – is in decline and we hope for that. that such a situation will correct itself is no longer possible. And it is impossible to do without the active participation of the state in the solution of this educational and social problem in the existing circumstances. The problem of the decline of physical education should be recognized as a problem of the national level.
