Abstract

The article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the Ukrainian and Hungarian languages in professional-communicative and country-studies dimensions, driven by the current needs of modern education, translation studies, and intercultural interaction. The object of the research is the Ukrainian and Hungarian languages as means of professional communication, while the subject is their terminological systems, phraseology, and culturally marked vocabulary, which reflect both common and distinctive features of the linguistic worldview.The purpose of the study is to identify the universal and specific characteristics of both languages in professional and country-studies contexts, as well as to determine the role of cultural factors in shaping communicative competence. The methodology is based on comparative analysis, the method of illustrative examples, and a critical review of previous research. The use of these methods made it possible to combine theoretical generalizations with practical material, particularly examples from legal, educational, and cultural discourse.The findings reveal that the Ukrainian and Hungarian languages, despite belonging to different language families, share similar principles of professional communication, namely the pursuit of accuracy, standardization, and terminological unambiguity. At the same time, differences are observed in morphological structures, methods of term formation, peculiarities of phraseological translation, and the use of culture-bound realia. The novelty of the research lies in the integration of linguistic and country-studies approaches to the comparison of Ukrainian and Hungarian, which allowed for a new interpretation of the relationship between the language system and cultural context. The practical significance of the results is seen in their applicability for designing curricula, developing teaching materials, creating exercises for philology students, as well as in translation practice, where attention to cultural nuances ensures the adequacy of meaning transfer.
