USAGE OF INTERACTIVE PLATFORMS FOR LEARNING ENGLISH BY INTENDING PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

Today, Ukraine is undergoing changes in the modern conceptual foundations of the national education system. The modernization of an intending primary school teacher training process involves increasing the requirements for their professional level in order to implement the New State Education Standard, which involves the formation of undergraduates’ English language competence at the level of B2 English proficiency Considering this, the problem of developing English language communicative competence of pre-service teachers while studying at higher education institutions is relevant. It will contribute to increasing their competitiveness. Most of higher education institutions in Ukraine today work in a mixed or distance format. Therefore, the aim of the article is to investigate the most popular interactive platforms for learning English by students of higher education, to determine their advantages and disadvantages, to indicate the main reasons for their use. In order to obtain data on the most popular interactive platforms for learning English, an anonymous survey of students and teachers was conducted. The survey showed the desire of students to use interactive platforms for learning English. The study made it possible to determine the main advantages of using interactive applications for learning English: convenience and accessibility, interactivity, personalized approach, community of users, instant feedback, variability of content. Based on the use of methods of observation, conversation, survey, questionnaire, analysis of interactive platforms for learning English, the advantages and disadvantages of the specified platforms and their use were determined. It was researched that the most popular interactive platforms for learning English by students of higher education today are Duolingo, Rosetta Stone, Babbel, Memrise, EnglishClub, British Council Learn English, EnglishDom, BBC Learning English. Platforms can provide a variety of content, including different types of exercises, themed courses, interactive videos, etc. They engage graduates and keep their interest throughout the course.
