Abstract

This article examines the issue of speech development in children with special educational needs through physical education in the context of a comprehensive approach to remedial and developmental work. The relevance of this study stems from the need to identify practical approaches to combining motor and speech activities, taking into account the individual abilities and educational needs of children. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the practical aspects of speech development in children with special educational needs through physical education. To achieve this goal, the study employs theoretical analysis of scientific and methodological sources, as well as analysis and synthesis, comparison, systematization, classification, and scientific generalization. Based on an examination of scientific approaches, physical education methods have been systematized according to their focus on the development of speech components. The practical possibilities of using exercises to develop gross and fine motor skills, active games with verbal accompaniment, logorhythmic and coordination exercises, exercises to develop speech breathing, and tasks involving sports equipment are explored. The authors have determined the advisability of integrating motor activities with tasks aimed at developing vocabulary, grammatical structure, coherent speech, articulation, speech breathing, and communication skills. Emphasis is placed on the need to tailor the content of motor-speech activities to the child’s age, functional abilities, and educational needs. The scientific novelty of this study lies in the systematization of practical physical education methods based on their speech-oriented focus and the identification of opportunities for their comprehensive integration into the corrective-developmental process. The practical significance of the results lies in the possibility for specialists to use the proposed systematization when planning individual and group work on speech development for children with special educational needs.
