THE NEED TO ESTABLISH A SITUATION CENTER AS A COMPETENCY COMPONENT OF PROFESSIONAL TRAINING FOR FUTURE POLICE OFFICERS

Abstract

The paper examines the need for innovative approaches in higher education to train qualified specialists, in particular police officers, who belong to risky professions. In higher education institutions with specific training conditions, educational innovative technologies, such as a simulated police quest, are used to form the professional competence of future police officers. A police quest is a training method that includes a practical lesson or several practical lessons. There are very few interdisciplinary connections in training using a police quest by modeling various situations of official activity. The main problems arising from the shortage of such lessons are identified: low stress resistance in complex scenarios, lack of complex interaction skills, weak development of managerial competence, inconsistency with real service conditions, limited use of modern technologies. After analyzing the training of Community Police Officers, which took place over 4 years, it was found that interdisciplinary quests have a better effect on the preparation of police officers for service. In this regard, against the background of the analysis of the activities of the Coordination Center of Community Police Officers, the need to create a single interdisciplinary Situational Center for cadets (future police officers) as a critically necessary competency component of the professional training of future specialists was substantiated. The situational center is designed to prepare cadets for the realities of practical activity, where they could better demonstrate the level of assimilation of theoretical knowledge of the material, determine the shortcomings in the organization and conduct of events, including when drawing up operational and service and procedural documents. The creation of such centers and their functioning in all higher educational institutions with specific training conditions was proposed. The directions of new research were determined.
